Remember how far you’ve come!

Remember how far you've come; not just how far you have to go. No way! Those were my thoughts when I learned that I was going to need to speak in front of an audience… This is my story, the story of how I achieved something I believed impossible. Almost two years ago, I decided to embark on a new journey. The journey of starting a business…little did I know that I was going to need a lot more than just talent and willingness. I took a course and got my designation as an … [Read more...]

Do You Have a Plan B?

Plan B

I can’t believe that it’s been 5 years since my divorce and the beginning of the creation of Woman’s InSite. So much has transpired in my life since then. I had no idea where this website would take me. If you had asked me where I wanted to be in 5 years, most of what I’m doing now wouldn’t have even been on my radar. I certainly didn’t have the confidence to think that I could do many of things that I do now. I had no plans to be a speaker, author of a book, … [Read more...]

Knowledge, is it a good thing?

Woman-thinking

Recently I was thinking about all that I’ve learned since starting this website nearly 5 years ago. When I think about the fact that the only thing I knew how to do on a computer when I started was how to send an email, it makes me wonder about my sanity at the time. What was I thinking? I mean how in the world did I think I’d be able to run a computer-based business? I had NONE of the skills needed to make it work. All I had was desire, drive and determination.   Just because I … [Read more...]

Climbing to the mountaintop

The landscape of our life is full of mountains and valleys. We mature with every step we take along our journey and become wiser and stronger for it. We’re constantly improving and growing. When we stop doing that, our purpose here is complete.   When facing the valleys of life, it can be very seductive to just settle in and have a pity party. Many times people cave into the temptation and stay in that frame of mind for a while. They lie down and cry and keep crying until they’ve … [Read more...]

It’s Time!

Images-of-Unconditional-Love-Quotes-Wallpaper

Wow! I know we’re all asking ourselves where did the summer go? Everyone is scrambling to get their kids ready to head back to school for another year of growing and learning. Tax-free weekend means it’s time to start grabbing up the last bit of what is needed to go back into the classroom. You’ll inevitably fight crowds in parking lots and malls all over town trying to get everything crossed off of your list. It’s only the beginning of another crazy school year. Many of you are just … [Read more...]

Vacation Mode

The Dive group at Deep Blue in Cozumel

Many of you know I recently went on a much anticipated and greatly appreciated vacation. I feel so blessed to have been able to get away for 6 days. Vacation mode for me is super relaxed. I allowed myself to put away all the things I’m working on at home and just be. I slept, ate, went scuba diving, took in the beautiful scenery, ate and slept some more. Did I mention that I slept? I might have slept a lot. It was wonderful! I especially loved being under water again and seeing that … [Read more...]

In order for our kids to mature into adults with healthy financial habits, it is our job as parents to help them cultivate the mindset that will help them to master money and not allow money to master them. As we train our future leaders to make wise financial decisions, here are five do’s and don’ts for teaching kids at an early age about healthy money management. 1. Talk about money openly and honestly with your kids. Do not shy away from these important teaching opportunities. While … [Read more...]

You like me, you really like me!

“Criticism is something you can easily avoid by saying nothing, doing nothing, being nothing.” ~ Aristotle   When we are children, we crave the approval of our parents. If we do something wrong, we are met with unpleasant consequences and disapproval. We strive to do better. This is how our conscience is formed. We learn morals and grow up to understand societal expectations for our behaviour. We care what people think of us. However, it’s not always in our best interest to … [Read more...]
