The Bling Ring Fashion Inspiration

photo-3 copy 2

Director Sofia Coppola has released a new movie that I have been talking, tweeting, and instagraming about for months. After releasing one of my favorite movies Marie Antoinette starring Kirsten Dunst I never thought I’d come to be just as excited for another one of her releases. Although a Texas A&M graduate Aggie’s do not “Lie, cheat or steal nor tolerate those who do” – an ethic we live by; Aggie’s are still allowed to watch and enjoy Coppola’s newest movie the Bling Ring … [Read more...]

The Life Aquatic | Maldivian Style

Green in Maldives

Take a dive into this summer's fashion; bright colors, solids and sheer fabrics align the summer trends for resort-ready wear. I took a trip to the Maldives to discover the true inspiration behind summer style. Dita Von Teese, Michael Phelps and Tony Parker are a few to name who have recently visited Rangali Island here in the Maldives. The local fashion scene amongst visitors is serene, lightweight and bright in color. The color scheme is turquoise, red, yellow, orange, green and pink - … [Read more...]

Say Yes To The Dress

Peek-a-boo dress

The colors of summer are turquoise, black and white and yellow. You can pair these solids with prints, of course, but let's cut to the chase on what's in for dresses. Here is what to keep an eye out for this summer when looking for the perfect dress: Cutouts that show minimal skin are hot right now on chic dresses. The peek-a-boo dress shows very minimal - and this rule is key. If the dress is classy in silhouette and in length, you can afford to show a little skin in the back. If … [Read more...]

The Modern Bride

Wedding Dress

Although I am upmost traditional in apparel selection, and I style brides on various occasions, I have started to notice a widespread trend in the wedding world - brides are now opting for something other than a white dress. Brides opt to feel elegant on their big day, so why are they now straying away from white?   Houston Designer David Peck offers a modern line for these modern brides, providing floral and elegant prints and fabrics that are tres chic, perfect for those … [Read more...]

The F13 collection consisted of clean lines, and … [Read more...]

Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Billy Reid Fall 2013

Billy Reid 2

Day two of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week came in full force even with the presence of a blizzard in New York City. The Fall 2013 Collection from Alabama based designer, Billy Reid, introduced a collection perfect in transitional form and the ideal apparel for Fashion Week - in which I wanted to purchase the collection straight off the runway for the cold NYC weather. I loved the combination of materials, the long floor length hems, and the color palette that Billy chose for the fall. The line … [Read more...]

Designer Spotlight | Kim Barton

Kim Barton

Australian designer Kim Barton sets fashion forward trends with an intuition for setting the bar before it is even seen in other labels or brands. This season’s designs include an asymmetrical scalloped skirt and an elegant blouse with a crisscross neck wrap. This is exactly what caught my eye to make me pursue this label. I first saw Kim Barton featured on the runway at Perth Fashion Festival this fall and realized that she has what it takes to possibly be the next Kate Spade or … [Read more...]

200 years of wedding glamour
