Fall is just around the corner so it’s about that time to start getting your closet ready. Out with the old and in with the new. Of course that doesn’t mean you need a whole new wardrobe but there’s no harm in getting a few pieces to liven it up a little. Now the question is what to look for? What are the fall trends this year?
Animal prints are hotter than ever for this upcoming season. Leopard is no longer something you see ladies wearing just in Las Vegas with gaudy jewelry. It’s a chic look whether it’s a little touch on your shoes or a blouse. What’s even better is mixing colors like orange, black, or gold. An orange top with leopard pants and gold pumps, you are ready to go. Prints are perfect for everyday, work, or going out. It can be loud or toned down so don’t be afraid of it. Want to be a little edgy? Purchase some animal print booties. They look great with a solid colored dress or skirt. One leopard piece in your closet that can be worn in different ways is a worthwhile investment.
Bold colors are not going away. Summer its colored denim; fall is bright colors such as cobalt blue, pink, and orange. Usually one would think gloomy and muted tones would be most popular which you will still see them but the upbeat prints and colors are what’s in all of the magazines and stores. You can wear a bright blue top under a blazer to work or spice up your look with an orange handbag. I’m seeing some great handbags at www.toryburch.com right now in all different colors. If you’re not that big of a risk taker to wear the bright tops then you can definitely be on trend in more subtle ways.
Leggings have become a staple in many women’s closets. They can be dressed up or down and worn in so many different ways. What’s great about them now is they are becoming more detailed. Everything from leather, suede, and cotton can be mixed into a pair of leggings. If leggings aren’t your thing or you don’t want to show that much then have no fear! Jeggings are still in style for fall 2012. I recommend checking out Paige jeggings at Carrie Ann in Uptown Park or www.nordstrom.com. They are thicker than leggings and thinner than denim. Perfect compromise! In my opinion, Paige has the best fit and variety. Throw on a chunky sweater, jeggings, and riding boots and you’ll be ready to go.
My personal favorite trend is lace. The classy ¾ sleeve black dress is elegant and perfect for dinner, wedding, or night out. If black is too boring for you then royal blue lace is also hot for fall. Every woman should have a lace dress. It is a necessity! You can add a jacket or tights to change up the look.
So take this opportunity to inventory your closet and see what you need. Get one or all of the items I talked about and your wardrobe will be complete. Some of my favorite places to shop to find these items are Tory Burch, Nordstrom , Carrie Ann, and www.shopbop.com. Happy Shopping!
